ABOUT

When Mick and Tracy moved to Spain some years ago with their son Harry, they were looking for an unspoilt countryside location that retained its typical Spanish rustic charm, that wasn't commercial and hadn't been over-run by the British tourist invasion. They found just the place in the tiny hamlet of Los Alamos, a cluster of just a few houses which had once been a coaching inn on the road to the coast. They have set about restoring their quaint house and converted parts of it into two independent self catering 'casitas' ('little houses' in Spanish). These are stylishly decorated to bring out the cosy, quirky, rustic character of the accomodation.

Although we can arrange airport transfers and taxis (please enquire) and there is a limited bus service, we recommend that you hire a car to make the most of your stay. One of our casitas has a few steep steps between rooms which may make it unsuitable for some people. Please ask us if you are unsure.

LOCATION

Las Casitas is located in the province of Murcia. It is surrounded by hills, just fifteen minutes from unspoilt beaches and ten minutes from Cartagena, a beautiful city with interesting architecture and history and a bustling port, as well as excellent shopping and nightlife. A short drive through spectacular mountain scenery brings you to the port of Mazarron and its coast, where you can swim, stroll along the promenade or enjoy one of the many bars and restaurants. Close to Las Casitas are delightful hidden villages, picturesque scenery and authentic Spanish restaurants, cafes and bars to explore. Or you can relax and make friends amongst the small British community which has made the region its home. Less than an hour away are the fascinating historic cities of Lorca and Murcia, the regional capital, and the breathtaking beauty of the Sierra Espuña national park.
